Good evening, everyone! It’s the weekend! I hope you don’t have to do too much working and that you’ll be able to spend a few hours with friends and family. If you haven’t already, thank God for his new blessings and mercies that he provided today. Each new day is a new opportunity for new choices and making changes. Remember that as you start each day this weekend.
And now it’s time for a delicious sermon snack courtesy of Pastor Josh. His sermon from Sunday was wonderful and I think you’ll like it.
God desires that none would perish. His heart is big enough for everyone. The reality is we are redeemed and we are his bride. We have to be willing to press on and love people because ultimately people will respond to love. Be consistent in your approach and don’t write people off. God’s desire is for us to grow. We are the body of Christ, the staying power of Jesus. We’re in a battle of good versus evil. The ultimate good is God. You can’t claim to be part of the kingdom with just a Sunday morning experience. There’s so much more.
We must fight with love, like Jesus did. We can’t pretend the battle doesn’t exist. We are the image of Christ and we must stand against evil. There’s an enemy of our souls that wants to take us out. It should encourage us to keep going.
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth…..”
Ephesians 6:10-14a NKJV
You don’t need armor unless you’re in battle. In coming to church you join sides with the one who will ultimately lead the battle. Be strong in God’s might. The key to reproducing the word is through the seed. Everything about this battle is the pure seed of the word that has birthed you anew in Jesus Christ. It all starts with truth. We’re in a war and people believe that truth is relative and they act accordingly. There’s one answer. We must stand on the truth of Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life. He doesn’t change regardless of what happens.
