Sunday Sermon Snack – Saturday

Good evening, everyone! Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is going well so far. How’s Christmas shopping? I’m proud to say that I completed my shopping in record time: two hours. It was quite an accomplishment. As great as Christmas presents are, never forget about the ultimate Christmas present. God gave his son Jesus Christ as a gift to all mankind. He is Lord and Savior to all who believe in him. I’m thankful for that gift. It’s one if the many blessings and mercies God provided. He’s so good and worthy of all the praise.

I have a delectable morsel for you today. Pastor Don preached an awesome word last Sunday. Here’s a portion of it. I know you’ll be blessed.
All the things going on today is a manifestation of sin in the heart of man. People are broken and they know no other way of getting past it. We must stand as a church for what’s right.Jesus is the defender of the weak. God has great love for you. Never let that leave your mind. Jesus is an indescribable gift. A present means nothing if you don’t open it.

“Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
John 8:2-12 NKJV

The blood of Jesus is the antidote for sin. Sometimes we get a prescription and we don’t take it for the length of time perscribed. Jesus is not just your Lord and Savior but also your teacher.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.”
Psalms 139:23-24 NKJV

Jesus knows everything about us. Sin is missing the mark of what God has called us to be. No one can judge your life except Jesus. We can’t examine everyone else and not ourselves. The woman acknowledged Jesus for who she really was and so should we.
