Sunday Sermon Snack – Saturday : New Creation

Good afternoon, everyone! We’ve made it to the end of another week. I hope you all take this time to rest up this weekend. It’s been an amazing week and I thank God for his new blessings and mercies. He is is so wonderful, all together lovely, and I’m  grateful for all that he’s done for me.

Let’s keep the momentum going with a sermon snack. Here are my notes from last week’s United Service. Pastor Don brought a powerful message.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he  is  a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
II Corinthians 5:17 NKJV

It’s not about feelings. It’s not about being in church. It’s about being in Christ. You can be in Christ everyday everywhere. We are new creations. We must get it into our minds and walk it out.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Romans 12:2 NKJV

The battle is in our minds and we must change the way we look at ourselves. Old things have passed away. God has empowered us to live a Christian life but we have to see ourselves as brand new.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
I John 1:9 NKJV

We’re new people.

“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to  be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
Romans 8:29 NKJV

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”
Ephesians 1:3-6 NKJV

God chose us before the foundation of the world. We have a predestination on our lives to walk, talk, and act like Jesus. When we look in the mirror we have to say we’re brand new. It’s about what happens on the inside of you that will change the outside of you. Don’t let the bad days stop us. We have an enemy of our souls that is trying to stop us from identifying with who we really are.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord , thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

Check God’s plan. You can’t do the same thing expecting a different result. New people look for new things. We are new creation miracles. Don’t look at yourself as damages goods. God saved you for such a time as this. Whatever we do as far as believers must be high above what the world does. When are we going to believe we are new creatures in Christ? We’re eagles. We’re supposed to soar. The only way that will happen is if we see ourselves as new creations. We have to make adjustments everyday. Don’t let the world influence you. Influence the world. You are a blood bought born again believer. Celebrate the new life. Ask God to show you the new things. You can influence someone for Christ just by how you live your life. There are things in you that no one else has and God will use that to touch others. Stop looking at yourself, look at Jesus, and let him work through you. If God can raise a man with no pulse or heartbeat, image what he can do through if you just get out way?
