Sunday Sermon Snack – Saturday : Are you all in?

Good evening, everyone! How is your weekend going? I hope it’s blessed. There us is so much to be thankful, so remember to thank God for his new blessings and mercies each day. He is so wonderful and all together lovely. He loves you and he is for you.

Since we’re halfway through the weekend, I thought it would be a good time for another sermon snack. This is a delecious morsel prepared in part by Pastor Josh. After you’ve had your fill, make a plate for someone else.

all-in
When it comes to loving after Christ you must be all in. Ninety-nine percent is not going to work. It can be hard to trust in a God you can’t see but know that he sees us. There’s an unrelenting love that God has for us. When you know the love of Christ you can share that with other people.

We take calculated risks but it’s not faith. With God we trust him with his word and his promises. We are the difference in someone’s life. We can change the atmosphere of someone’s situation because of the spirit living inside of us. There’s a peace that comes when we learn to trust God 100%. We can’t sit still and be a person of faith.

The Promise Land is not a land of comfort. There will be battles to fight. We must be willing to roll up our sleeves and get involved and love the unlovable and forgive the unforgivable. We must take every thought captive. Don’t rely on others to prop you. There’s a strengthening of our faith that comes with the battles we face. We will find preservation for our souls from the word that we hide in our hearts. Without God in our lives we tend to live for ourselves. God wants to use us to reach others and to be the sound of truth for others.

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.”
Romans 8:5-7 NKJV

If our minds are on the wrong thing our lives will follow that direction. We have to make our primary focus on things that are eternal. Those who live according to the spirit set their minds on the things of the spirit. Some of the things we put our focus on are not that important. When we invest in someone else it ensures that that person lives forever. It would be tragic to invest in something we thought was eternal only to realize that it wasn’t. The cares of this life can overwhelm us but there’s another reality. God wants a communication with us so the current of heaven can flow to us so we can know God’s thoughts and his word.
