Good evening, everyone! How’s your weekend so far? I hope you’re enjoying it. Don’t forget to count those blessings and remember to thank God for each one. He’s loving, compassionate, and full of grace. I’m thankful for all that he is and all he’s done for me.
Today I have a sermon snack that is savory and delectable. Pastor Don served up something incredible last Sunday for the morning. You will love it.
Sometimes we give our lives to Lord and our lives are still a mess. God wants a relationship with us.
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
Galatians 5:16-26 NKJV
The Apostle Paul says we can be set free. It is possible to walk victorious lives but it depends on who you’re walking with. You’re the sum total of who you are until you meet Christ
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
I Corinthians 15:57 NKJV
The victory is through Christ, his life, death, burial, and resurrection. We have a part to play in putting to death godless practices in out lives. He didn’t leave us to do it by ourselves and gave us Jesus. We are now in the right standing with God. He now sees us as sons and daughters. God is a transformer. To be transformed we must walk in the spirit and allow him to guide us otherwise we will go back to those things that had us bound.
“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.”
II Corinthians 2:14-15 NKJV
The Holy Spirit leads us into life.
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33 NKJV
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 NKJV
We can’t live this life without the Holy Spirit. He will empower to be a witness to others. It involves our lifestyle and character, not just telling someone about God.
Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
Amos 3:3 NKJV
We must agree with God in order to walk with him. It involves crucifying our flesh. The Holy Spirit is a gift. Open up the box and see all the different compartments. We have power to live this life right. We are no longer victims but victors. The longer you hang out with Jesus, the stronger you become.
“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.”
Ephesians 4:1 NKJV
God called us into holiness.
“As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
II Peter 1:3-4 NKJV
The Holy Spirit gave us everything pertaining to life and godliness. It’s like Prego. It’s all in there.
“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
Ephesians 4:30 NKJV
When the Holy Spirit speaks to you, yield to him. He will lead and guide you in all truth. When you choose to walk to him you have unhindered access to his ways. Heed the warning and follow his way. It won’t be easy, but it is possible.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13 NKJV
We can’t live this life on our own strength. Jesus helps us to be victory. To be led is to submit voluntarily. Who will lead your life in order to live victorious? There’s only one. God invited us into a relationship, to put our hand in his and let him lead us. When our mind turns to him he gives us understanding to the different things in our lives. The crowd is not always right. Ten people caused two million to miss out on their blessing. Listen to that still small voice. Allow the spirit to fill you until you overflow.
