Sunday Sermon Snack – Sunday : Happy Mother’s Day

Good evening, everyone! I would like to wish all the mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, foster mothers, aunts who act like mothers, den mothers, and mothers-to-be a happy Mother’s Day. I hope you all enjoyed your special day. Please remember that you are a valuable asset to everyone that is in your life.

Today, Pastor Josh gave a wonderful message and I want to share it with all of you. As always fill up your plates and fill up the Tupperware for someone else.

There’s an aspect of God that mothers have. She wants everyone to come together. That’s who Jesus is.

“”O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!”
Matthew 23:37 NKJV

Moms want everyone together and kept safe. God wants us all together and will leave the 99 for the on. At some point we have to get the training of “you got this”. Parents must understand that their children need to grow up. At some point in life we must connect with the spiritual reality of heaven. We have to bring that essence back to earth, because earth can be scary. Alot of the things we do in life makes us wonder if God is trying to hurt us. He desires that none would perish. He accepted us through Christ’s death on the cross. Understand how much he loves you and see the value he has for you. You matter to him. God has a plan for us. Moms are committed to the process of our lives. It’s more than just moments but the events leading up to them. God has that side of him that’s committed to the process of our maturity and growing.

“And He Himself gave some to  be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”
Ephesians 4:11‭-‬16 NKJV

This is a group of people, the church, growing together in Christ. God has transformed our past. We’re no longer who we were, but new creations. We are his representatives on this earth. We are made in his image.  Know that he loves you and that you are known in heaven. We have a value that is far above what we think it is. Submit to God’s idea that we are made like him. We must live are lives knowing that we are his plan. Don’t devalue your life. Understand the value. Grow out of childhood and stand on your own. We need to grow up because there is deception out there. The adults know the value of their children. Children don’t know their own value and the parents must teach them. Moms give their lives for their children. They see the value that others can’t. We are not an accident. Others will try to deter mothers from what they see in their children. We must be connected with the light that shines in the dark world. When you have a value, you stop selling yourself cheap. We must give the love that God gave us, which never runs out.

“But when His own people heard about  this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, “He is out of His mind.” And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has Beelzebub,” and, “By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.””
Mark 3:21‭-‬22 NKJV

Many thought Jesus was out of his mind, including his family. Mary went towards the problem to see what she could do.

“Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.” But He answered them, saying, “Who is My mother, or My brothers?”  And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!  For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.””
Mark 3:31‭-‬35 NKJV

Jesus’s family was those who did the will of God. It’s not about blood relations. If we all have the same dad, our Heavenly Father, then we are all family. When we go towards God and it’s not about the ones who are on our birth certificate. We all share the same value from the same father.

“Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!”  Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.”
John 19:25‭-‬27 NKJV

All it takes to be a part of the family is to embrace God’s will for your life. You were bought by the precious blood of Jesus. We have heavenly blood in our veins. Some will think your crazy but you’ll live. The process you walk through will eventually inspire them. There are people that need love and need to be grafted into the family. See the value in other people.
