Sunday Sermon Snack :Sunday – We Have Potential Inside Us

Good afternoon, everyone! How are you in this incredible month of July? Summer is in full swing, the year is half over c and there will be some awesome fireworks displays today and tomorrow. I hope you all enjoy your time with your friends and family. Be thankful for your freedom. It’s one of God’s amazing blessings and mercies.
That’s one of the points that Pastor Josh touched on this morning. Here are my notes from today’s early morning service. You will enjoy this. Be sure to share it someone after you’re finished.
______

God wants to live inside of us and become our life. He doesnt give us a better life, but a brand new one. When we see the gospel for what it really we see ourselves and others as Jesus does. God is doing something in our lives and we must believe it by faith. Our freedom was paid for by those who knew what it cost. Freedom comes at a price. Enjoy and celebrate the freedom we have and remember how much it cost. In those moments of fatigue and pouring it all out, we must read the word. The Holy Spirit will provide refreshment through the word and we will know the plan that God has for our lives. We can’t take for granted the privilege we have to read God’s word freely in public. The ease of accessibility does not diminish its value. The enemy of our souls is afraid of what we will find in the word. He doesn’t want us to reach the full potential of the seed that’s inside of us. To stop an army you don’t stop them at the battle but in preparation for it. The enemy wants to stop our potential at all cost. Because of Chist,  we can change. Light overcomes darkness. We live in an age where evil exist and darkness reigns.

“By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
John 15:8 NKJV

Our potential is in us and the harvest is in Christ through faith and patience. We are not who we were and we are growing in Christ. Sometimes we can lose sight of that. Potential in and of itself is not enough. It must mature and grow fruit. There’s a maturing if your life that comes when we realize God is working in us. The freedom we have to walk in is powerful and it comes in daily decisions. We all are overshadowed by an umbrella. God gave us something that thrives and we have something in us to help other people. We mustn’t become jaded by it.

“The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”
Genesis 1:2 NKJV

God’s voice was all that existed in darkness and then he spoke everything into existence. The Holy Spirit lives in us and we walk in the life that impacts us and those around us. We can do more than imagine. The faith that we have has the potential to produce things hear and now. Potential is just potential until it’s expressed. Ask God for an opportunity to see the potential expressed. We will be used in a way that we never thought possible. The Holy Spirit is the overshadowing aspect. By faith he is already here.

“And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.”
Luke 1:35 NKJV

We are born again of an incorruptible seed. We are really ambassadors connected to heaven and God is overshadowing everything that overshadows out lives.
