Good afternoon and Happy Wednesday! You made it the middle of the week and the best is yet to come. I thank God for making it this far and for providing me with new blessings and mercies. He’s so good and worthy of all the praise.
Well, as Barry would say, it’s time to land the airplaine. This is the last of the Jamaican Gem series. Ehat better way to end it than with Barry’s sermon on being transformed. This is a powerful, delicious word. Fill up your bowl and then fill up the Tupperware and give it to someone.
“Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
Hebrews 10:19-22 NKJV
The new and living way is the access Jesus provided with his sacrifice. We now have time with the father.
“Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
Hebrews 9:12-14 NKJV
When we are saved we don’t just change our category. We are being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ. This is just the begining. This rebirth is not just physical and for our lifetime. It’s for forever. Tomorrow we will be being transformed into the image of God. As we’re being transformed we get into the Holy of Holies through Jesus Christ. This gives us freedom.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is , there is liberty.”
II Corinthians 3:17 NKJV
We are called to live transformed. We can live in and for his image. God reveals his image and heart in Jesus. We can be free from bondage, cycles, and addictions. We get so much more than freedom. We get a new type of value. Friends, family, and enemies no longer have a say of who we are. Jesus tells us who we are by telling us whose we are. We are son of the living God. He gives us a relationship with him when we’re transformed. We have a good and perfect Father. The new life that we have is about sonship. This is our title for eternity. He loves us and wants to be with us forever. He will never die or change. We are now the righteousness of Jesus Christ. We inherit every blessing that Jesus has when God adopts us as sons and daughters. God is looking for places of rest for his Holy Spirit. He wants to take up residence in us. God loves us enough to send his son for us and set up camp in us forever. When we look at Jesus we will see the hand of the Father. We can know God and his glory through Jesus. God can do anything. Jesus does miracles all the time. When you open yourself up to this expect the unexpected. When we accept the access that we have to the throne our limitations disappear. We have walked into the glory place where the Lord ministers to us. This access to the Father is something to take advantage of. This relationship is through faith and he will bless it eternally. What will you give with this access? God loves us. We must leverage our access to the throne and use it for others.
