Let’s kick off this weekend with a delicious sermon snack. Pastor Josh preached an awesome word on Sunday and I want you to partake of it. As always, eat your fill and share it with someone else.

Life makes more sense when you realize it’s not about you but other people. Take care of what’s on God’s heart and he will make sure the things of your heart are fulfilled. The things God gives us for a fulfilled life will require laying down our own lives and desires and sacrifice for others. The gospel flies in the face everything that we have learned in this life. The servant of all will be the greatest.  There’s no way for us to release out of us what isn’t of God. Who will be found faithful when he returns? There’s a line in the sand that we must be on one side of. God desires that we be hot or cold and not in the middle. Say yes to what God has placed on your heart. There wil be things we have to face because of saying yes but he will be with us. Say yes to God and let him take care of everything else. We’re natural beings not trying to have a spiritual experience. We must walk in God to live a life that is fulfilling. It doesn’t make sense to live carnally minded. You will get frustrated. It will lead to death.

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who  live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

Romamns 8:5‭-‬8 NKJV

Take what you earn and hold dear here and store it in heaven. We’re spiritual  beings having a natural experience. God through the Holy Spirit came to seek and save those who are lost. Let him rescue you with a spiritual rescue. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Say yes to the need. God will pour out a blessing on those who don’t have time but God provides. It has nothing to do with what is available in the natural realm. We can get free from the things of this life if we trust in him. Everything doesn’t revolve around us. When we realize that, it sets us free. We are to live a life based on a culture of life that is within a culture of death.

“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.”

Ephesians 2:1‭-‬2 NKJV

This walk of faith starts with us dying so we can come alive. Theres a spiritual government over this world that’s evil. Embrace it as a spiritual battle. Spiritual darkness is now the norm. Theres a default influence that has infected many minds. We must understand this life from a spirtual standpoint and lay up treasures in heaven by faith. It’s not about how much you have but if you will give it all to him. People are never truly free because they hold back a part of their lives from God. Don’t lose sight that we live in a process of death. We are made alive through what Jesus did on the cross.

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.  But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him.”

John 6:63‭-‬64 NKJV

Put action to what the word says or it will profit you nothing. Fuel the part ofn2you that’s eternal. We live a fuller life when we live from the Holy Spirit. Jesus doesn’t want you to have a better life but to have THE life, eternal life. If we don’t grow spiritually it’s the death of us. Seasons change and the devil’s tactics are based on the decisions that we make. We have to feed ourselves through the word and let the Holy Spirit tell us what’s important. Our spiritual growth is not automatic. If we’re not in the word we won’t be able to stand when the seasons change. Do we invest ourselves in the food Jesus provides? If we don’t grow spiritually we’ll be overtaken by the weeds.

“But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Luke 9:62 NKJV

Move forward and don’t look back. Have a full commitment.

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in  it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”

Jas 1:22‭-‬25 NKJV

God’s word never comes back void. The devil has been ruling and setting up dead works breaking more people. God is sending his church to do good works. If you hear the word and don’t do it you forget who you are. Our works don’t qualify you or save you but they identify you. It’s not condemnation but you can identify someone according to what they do. The works will build our faith and assure us of who we are. When you look in the mirror you see that you are set free. God lives in you and no one can take that away. See who you truly are. You will be free if you live for the approval of God and not men. There’s room for making mistakes but we must remember who we are.

“What does  it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?”

James 2:14 NKJV

The servant heart is to serve without getting anything in return. When you are able to do that your faith will grow.

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.  And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”…..Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

John 8:31‭-‬32‭, ‬36 NKJV

The freedom is to live a life that we are free to give and serve because he’s taking care of us. We are created for good works in Jesus Christ. That is our purpose.
